Problem
When a roof is designed at the very end, without reference to the rooms underneath, it easily breaks apart into disconnected patches and stops sheltering the rooms as one whole.
Solution
Work out the roof early as one connected whole, letting its shape grow directly from the arrangement of the rooms beneath it so it gathers and shelters them together.
