Six-Foot Balcony

Problem
A narrow balcony may look decorative from the street, but in practice it barely functions — there's hardly room for a table or a chair, so a person ends up standing at the edge rather than settling onto it. Balconies like this end up standing empty most of the time.
Solution
Build balconies and loggias at least about two meters deep, and recess them partway into the facade, so there's real room to sit and the balcony feels enclosed and safe rather than exposed.
