Problem
When a building sits in the middle or along the south edge of its lot, its own bulk throws shadow over the outdoor spaces, and they end up barely used.
Solution
Push the building itself to the north edge of the site, and lay the terraces, courtyards, and gardens along its south face, so they catch sun through the day.
