Problem
Houses lined up in isolation along a street rarely foster real neighborliness — people may know their immediate neighbors, but there is no shared ground that turns a row of houses into an actual small community.
Solution
Arrange eight to twelve houses in a small cluster around a piece of shared common land, forming a manageable unit small enough that the people living there can genuinely come to know one another.
