Pattern 99

Main Building

Buildings · Cluster

Context Building Complex95 · Number of Stories96

Problem

When a building complex consists only of equally ranked parts, it lacks a center; the pieces sit side by side without any recognizable core to hold them together.

Solution

Give every building complex one recognizable main building at its heart, larger or more prominent than the rest, so it gathers the other parts around it and gives the whole its center and direction.
