Problem
A building lit evenly everywhere feels flat and without tension — nothing pulls the eye or the body toward any particular spot. Uniform light may be comfortable, but it is also without interest.
Solution
Deliberately alternate brighter and darker areas throughout the interior, creating a rhythm of light and shadow that draws people from room to room and gives each place its own distinct character.
