Problem
When all traffic in an area funnels through a branching, hierarchical tree of streets down to a few collector roads, bottlenecks, dead-ends, and a rigid, inflexible network result.
Solution
Lay out several parallel main streets that share the traffic between them, instead of relying on a single branching tree of collector roads and dead-ends.
